Featuring in-line air bubble extrusion and multi-layered lamination

Cast film extrusion lines are recognized in the industry for their high production speed and film quality featuring superb optical characteristics. Alpha Marathon’s cast film lines complement these benefits with exception versatility as these lines can be used for applications ranging from general packaging to food applications. This range of flexibility is increased with in-line processing such as air bubble extrusion and multi-layer lamination the flexibility which Alpha Marathon offers. The addition of these units simplify the process and reduces the footprint and cost of machinery as off-line processing is eliminated.

Air Bubble Packaging

Air bubble packaging is commonly used as a layer of protection for the packaging industry. Alpha Marathon has incorporated the production of air bubble packaging as an in-line process for cast film lines. This is achieved by utilizing dual extruders each feeding a separate die. One side of the film is heated in a vacuum mould forming the bubble and then the two layers are sealed together. The size of the bubble ranges from 1/8" to 1/2" but we also offer custom air bubble sizes according to your specifications. These Alpha Marathon lines are able to produce air bubble packaging up to 124" wide at a speed of up to 200 fpm.

Features:
  • Dual extruders and dual dies form air bubble packaging in-line for cast films
  • Air bubble packaging up to 124" wide
  • Production speed of up to 200 feet per minute
  • Optional turret winder with rotary perforator and slitter
  • PLC with touch screen control panel for fully automated control
  • Air bubble forming molds can be changed in 15 minutes minimizing disruption
Lamination

Alpha Marathon cast film lines offer in-line equipment that are able to laminate up to 5 layers simultaneously. For air bubble packaging laminations to: foam sheets, coated paper, coated aluminum foil and metalized polyester can be performed. The capability of lamination extends to double sided aluminum plastic coatings in one pass providing maximum performance and efficiency.
